Carson City emergency crews called to juvenile on bicycle hit by vehicle near Fremont School
Carson City emergency crews were called to a vehicle accident Monday morning involving a 13-year-old juvenile male riding a bicycle that happened across from Fremont Elementary School.
The accident was called into dispatch at 6:46 a.m. and involves the juvenile on a bicycle who was struck by a SUV type vehicle, according to dispatch. The boy suffered injuries to his leg and will be flown via Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
It is unknown if he was wearing a bicycle helmet. He was struck by the vehicle on Saliman Road near the school which is on Firebox Road. The crash is under investigation.
Traffic was halted at the intersections of Saliman and Fifth, Saliman and Little streets and Saliman and Fairview. The boy was taken by ground ambulance to a helicopter landing zone.
