Special Olympics Nevada Tip-A-Cop fundraiser going on now in Carson City
Law enforcement officers in Nevada and Special Olympians have long history of teamwork together, one that goes back more than three decades.
Perhaps no event between the two is more successful than Tip-A-Cop, a fundraiser at which officers serve customers at a participating restaurant and all of the tips earned by the badge-bearers goes to support the life-changing activities of Special Olympics Nevada.
Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 3815 S. Carson Street in Carson City, was host to a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser Wednesday. The event began at 11 a.m. today and runs through the dinner hour to 8 p.m. tonight.
Peace officers from various agencies around the Nevada state capital will be on hand to take orders and serve food to customers.
Tip-A-Cop is among the activities supported by the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a statewide non-profit that fundraises for Special Olympics Nevada.
