Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Woman arrested for battery with deadly weapon

A 48 year-old Carson City woman was taken into custody Friday night at 7:25 p.m. in the 2000 block of College Parkway after allegedly injuring her boyfriend with a kitchen knife, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.

The show features Buffalo Bill Cody, Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley, the Pony Express, The Mayfield Gang and the 1st Nevada Cavalry. A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for a felony warrant alleging sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, 3 counts lewdness with a child under 14, and one count attempted lewdness, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Open Pit Mine For Silver City, "Come Hell or High Water"

On August 1, 2017, Comstock Mining, Inc. (CMI) released its quarterly report, which included a number of statements and topics important to Silver City. CMI’s ultimate goal of an open pit mine in Silver City remains unchanged. The company plans to begin the permitting process for the Dayton Mine by the end of the year. “We are marching toward Dayton feasibility come hell or high water,” according to company CEO Corrado DeGasperis, with production plans ready to go in two years.

David Antonucci to speak on Mark Twain at Dangberg Historic Park

Author David C. Antonucci will speak on his book "Fairest Picture: Mark Twain at Lake Tahoe" at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday, August 12, 10 a.m. In 1861, Samuel Clemens, the man who would become Mark Twain, hiked to Lake Tahoe to stake a claim for a timber ranch.

He spent many blissful days on the Lake but carelessly allowed his campfire to escape, creating a spectacular wildfire. He later wrote about his experiences in his 1872 memoir, Roughing It.

Band to perform at Carson City music festival release song, video dedicated to fallen deputy

The million-selling band Rednex is in the line-up for the upcoming memorial event for Deputy Howell in Carson City on August 19. To complement their first visit to the US have they released a song and video dedicated to Deputy Howell, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2015.

Since the passage of Question 2 last year, some of us have engaged in an ongoing debate about the wisdom of permitting recreational marijuana sales in Carson City. At this moment, it seems that the majority of the Carson City Board of Supervisors intend to exercise their right as our elected representatives to approve an ordinance permitting the sale of recreational pot at the City’s two existing medical marijuana dispensaries as a defense, ironically, against a long litany of adverse impacts outlined in the draft Business Impact Statement released on July 7th.

It begins today with a 4-H dog show focusing on obedience and rally. If you happened to be awake during the wee hours of the morning, you may have heard some thunder rattling about – there may be a little more of that on its way.
