Band to perform at Carson City music festival release song, video dedicated to fallen deputy
The million-selling band Rednex is in the line-up for the upcoming memorial event for Deputy Howell in Carson City on August 19. To complement their first visit to the US have they released a song and video dedicated to Deputy Howell, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2015.
The song is called Wish You Were Here and the video can be viewed here:

The video features a performance by the Rednex singer Misty Mae, along with pictures from Deputy Howell's life, his family and the vigil, procession and funeral. It is produced in cooperation with Don Alexander, founder of The Last Response Memorial Fund and initiator of the event, and the Howell family.
Rednex have sold 10 millions records, been No. 1 in 15 countries, had a dozen chart successes and been featured in TV & film such as New Girl, Family Guy, The Negotiator, Barnyard etc. The Sweden based band have, during their 23 years on tour, played over 1000 gigs on four continents, but never been to the U.S.
“We are honored to play at the memorial event and very excited to do our first show in the US. The video was very emotional and I hope that the people of Nevada will think it is a good way to honor their fallen hero,” says the singer Misty Mae.
“Don Alexander approached us with a request to do a show for this charity event. He also suggested that the song Wish You Were Here was appropriate for the occasion. We very much liked the idea and thought it was a beautiful use of the song, so we decided to make a recording and video especially for this. We are hoping for local support in Carson City and Nevada before we release it to the rest of the world. That is very important and essential to us,” says Rednex co-founder and producer Pat Reiniz.
The link to the video is currently only available for local media in Northern Nevada as the Rednex are wishing for it to first gain attention among those who were directly affected by the tragic events of Deputy Howell. Therefore, the posting of the video here is a media world premiere.
