Both Lanes Open: NDOT nears Cave Rock tunnel extension completion at Lake Tahoe

The Nevada Department of Transportation has substantially completed a project to enhance traveler safety and roadside water quality on U.S. 50 in the Cave Rock area of Lake Tahoe nearly one month ahead of schedule.

All U.S. 50 travel lanes through Cave Rock are now open. Since the project’s start in May, traffic had previously been reduced to one lane in each direction through the Cave Rock tunnel.

With construction to extend the westbound U.S. 50 Cave Rock tunnel in Lake Tahoe more than 75 percent complete, the Nevada Department of Transportation is asking motorists to anticipate minor travel delays and changes to work zone traffic patterns as final elements of construction are completed.

Families unite Saturday at Mills Park in Carson City for the first-ever Northern Nevada Family Fun Day, a community event featuring live music, workshops, shopping, raffles, a Kids Zone, giveaways, raffles and more.

Former Dayton resident and St Teresa of Avila parishioner passed away

Leonard Dionisio, 83, was born in Vineland, Colorado but grew up in Pueblo. The son of Tony and Anna Dionisio, he loved to sing from a young age.

As a freshman at Central High School he decided to join the choir. On the very first day he spotted the pretty junior and he told his buddy "I'm going to marry that girl one day".
