State Route 2017 over Kingsbury Grade will be closed for at least six hours beginning at around noon Friday for urgent slope repair, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Bagpipes, drums, river dancers and a live rock band brought St. Patrick's Day revelers to their feet Friday on McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City.

Area pubs, bars and restaurants were crowded Friday afternoon and into the evening around Carson City as celebrants embraced the traditional Irish holiday.

Irish eyes are smiling on us: it’s going to be a gorgeous day. You won’t have to look far for some green beer, whiskey, or corned beef – there will be St. Patrick’s Day parties all over. A 38 year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday night at 7:26 p.m. in the area of Old Hot Springs Road and Roop Street on multiple felony drug offenses, a Carson City Sheriff’s deputy said.

A 25 year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday night at 8:56 p.m. in the 1200 block of Woodside Drive for felony possession of multiple controlled substances, including methamphetamine and heroin, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
