Carson City sheriff's traffic stop leads to drugs, stolen wallet

A 39-year-old man was arrested Nov. 27 following a traffic stop that led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of drugs and a wallet that had been reported stolen, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

A 65-year-old Carson City woman was arrested late Sunday for suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing her husband in the arm, a sheriff's deputy report states.

City of Reno curfew lifted

UPDATE Wednesday: Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve has lifted a curfew that began Tuesday. The city is working on putting into place a modified plan that would limit large gatherings to 50-plus people, a city spokesman said in a Tweet.

Out of an abundance of caution for public safety, Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve has issued citywide curfews beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2. The curfew will be in effect nightly from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning and will continue until terminated by Mayor Schieve.

Reno Police Department mourns loss of officer

It is with heavy hearts that the Reno Police Department announces the death of one of our newest police officers. Officer Bradley Hartsell suffered an unforeseen medical issue while at his home on December 19, 2019.

Officer Hartsell joined the Reno Police Department in April of 2019, and graduated from the Northern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy on December 3, 2019.

Truck used in Dayton ATM theft located; suspect still at large

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office announced they have located the truck involved in the most recent ATM burglary that occurred in Dayton last week, but the suspect is still at large.

Lyon County, Reno Police and FBI investigate recent rash of ATM thefts in Dayton, Reno

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office along with the Reno Police Department are investigating a potential connection between two recent burglary incidents in which two entire ATM machines were stolen from South Reno and Dayton.

According to Lyon County Sheriff's Office Detective Lieutenant Jerry Pattinson, the two local law enforcement agencies are looking into a concrete connection between the two offenses, and yesterday the FBI was on scene in Dayton.

Evans Creek Fire southwest of Reno investigated as human caused, fire crews working on containment

CARSON CITY — The 25-acre Evans Creek Fire started Thursday around 2 a.m. and is located southwest of Reno on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Carson Ranger District in Evans Canyon area approximately two miles from the Ballardini Ranch Trailhead. The fire was human-caused and under investigation by law enforcement.

Reno man arrested for stolen license plates, obstructing an officer

A 26-year-old Reno man was arrested Friday night for possession of stolen license plates, driving with a suspended license, a parole and probation hold and obstructing an officer.

Rudy Alexander Jimenez was taken into custody at 7:46 p.m. According to the report, deputies scanned Jimenez’s car and it returned with a stolen license plate warning from dispatch.
