Two people shot dead at Virginia City Gun Works, suspected shooter commits suicide
UPDATE: The names of the father and son victims and suspected gunman from the shooting at the Virginia City Gun Works on Monday have been released. The victims are Gary Lord, 71, and son TJ Lord, 39, who owned the business. The suspect, Joep Mols, 56, died of an apparent suicide in Reno.

The Storey County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double homicide that happened Monday at a Virginia City gun business, in which the alleged shooter committed suicide.
On September 7, 2020, at about 2:30 p.m. the Storey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a double homicide at a Virginia City business, identified as the Virginia City Gun Works.
The Nevada Division of Investigation, Washoe County FIS, and the ATF responded to assist with the investigation. As a suspect was identified the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Reno Police Department who advised that a person of interest had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in their jurisdiction, according to a SCSO news release via Facebook.
The suspected perpetrator had been involved in a running legal battle with the deceased Virginia City business owner, the news release states. The names of those involved are not being released until all family members have been notified.
It is believed there is no ongoing threat to the public stemming from this incident, according to the news release.
