Fungus Foray: Carson City Parks and Rec hosts interpretive wild mushroom hike

Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space is going to be looking for wild mushrooms behind the Foothill Garden, behind the Carson-Tahoe Health Cancer Center in the 1500 block of Medical Parkway, with the help of the garden site manager, Will Pierz.

Man arrested Thursday after throwing rocks through Carson City Aquatic Center windows
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 04/19/2019 - 10:52amA 36-year-old transient man was arrested at the Carson City Aquatic Center after throwing rocks through the windows. He was arrested for failing to register as an ex-felon, destruction of city property, and disorderly conduct.
Deputies responded to the Aquatic Center Thursday just after 5 pm for a report of a man throwing rocks through the windows of the center.

He was arrested for suspicion of felony DUI causing substantial bodily harm and other charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Bicycle event to benefit Carson City Schools Foundation, commemorate Star Wars Day

Hosted by the Carson City School District, the Nevada Department of Transportation, Safe Routes to School, local bike clubs and shops, the inaugural event will serve as a proving ground to acquaint experienced and less experienced bike riders with their eco-friendly transport mechanisms.

Carson City man arrested on felony drug charge after deputies mistook him for twin brother

Jonathan Scott Crandell was arrested after deputies from the tri-tori-county Gang Unit were patrolling a local casino when they observed a man who looked like a man who had two warrants out for his arrest.
