Carson City arrests: Man with revoked license for DUI jailed after crash that injured passenger

A 25-year-old Mound House man who was driving with a revoked license for a prior DUI, crashed his vehicle early Sunday on Highway 50 East injury a female passenger. He was arrested for suspicion of felony DUI causing substantial bodily harm and other charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Eddy Garcia-Perez was taken into custody at 2:28 a.m. The single vehicle crash happened early Sunday. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of driving on a revoked license and violation of alternative sentencing conditions.

The female passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital where she suffered brain bleeding, according to the arrest report. Her condition is unknown at this time.

According to the arrest report, the man told deputies he had two beers at a bar and then, while driving with the female passenger, he had fallen asleep. Dispatch advised the man had a revoked license for a prior DUI. Deputies could smell an odor of alcohol emanating from the man's breath when they spoke with him. The woman was unconscious when deputies arrived on scene and had labored breathing. She was transported to the hospital.

Due to airbag deployment, the man was also taken to the hospital. During transport, the man told the deputy he would refuse a blood draw. Garcia-Perez provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .338.

A deputy made contact with a deputy district attorney and a Carson City judge where a telephonic search warrant was granted for a blood draw. At the hospital the man was uncooperative, yelling curse words at the nurse and doctor. He faces charges of DUI causing substantial bodily harm, driving on a revoked license and DAS violation. Bail: $41,112.

In other arrests:
— A 39-year-old Carson City man, Branon Arco Johnson, was arrested Saturday 2:15 p.m. in the 400 block of west Winnie Lane for felony suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and two misdemeanors: branding a weapon and being a convicted person who failed to register. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly drew a knife and and threatened to stab another man during an argument at an apartment complex. Bail: $21,044.

— A 50-year-old Carson City woman, Renee Lynette Parkison, was arrested Sunday, 3:14 a.m. at a Furgeson Ranch Road residence for two counts suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, on Sunday at approximately 3:03 a.m. Carson City deputies arrested the woman for two counts assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery following an incident on Saturday, April 13 and an investigation that followed.

Deputies interviewed the suspect, victim and witnesses involved in a dispute in which the woman had allegedly punched her boyfriend several times during an argument. The woman then allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and the man's sister. Bail: $43,137.

— A 50-year-year-old Carson City man, Thomas Alan Dias, was arrested Sunday, 7:330 a.m. in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East for possession of a controlled substance, a felony, a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a casino in which a man was at a gaming machine sleeping.

Deputies asked the man for identification and learned he had an active warrant out of Washoe County. He was arrested for the warrant. During the search he was asked if he had anything on him. The man he said a "point." Deputies located a syringe, a methamphetamine pipe and methamphetamine. Bail: $4,380.

— A 37-year-old man was arrested Sunday 10:16 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Saliman for gross misdemeanor indecent exposure.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City sheriff's deputy observed a man urinating in public view in the field behind a church and the Caron High School North Parking lot and baseball field. The man was urinating in full view of families and small children. Bail: $5,000.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 10:28 p.m. in the 200 block of David Street for a misdemeanor out of county warrant. Bail: $1,053.

— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 5:24 a.m. in the 3000 block of Imperial Way for a misdemeanor warrant alleging domestic violence with a person who had a temporary protection order. The warrant was issued out of Virginia City Township Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 26-year-old man was booked Saturday into Carson City jail for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of Lake Township Justice Court in California. Bail: $2,345.

— A Carson City man was arrested early Monday, 1:44 a.m. in the 600 block of Hot Springs Road for misdemeanor disturbing the peace. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the location regarding an intoxicated subject who was pounding on the door of an apartment.

The subject was reportedly acting hostile and aggressive to his ex-girlfriend a day prior. The issue was resolved when he left the apartment. He then returned to the apartment at around 1:21 a.m. and was trying to get into the residence through a back door. He was intoxicated and pounding on the front door, back door and windows.

Deputies made contact with the man, and attempted to get his side of the story. The man acted hostile and aggressive to them to them and would yell and speak over the officers. Dispatch advised that another resident in the complex had requested deputies arrest the man for disturbing the peace. The neighbor asked the man to quiet down as they were trying to sleep, with the man reportedly telling the person to "shut the f*** up." Bail: $147.
