Carson City sheriff's log: Deputies make multiple drug and warrant arrests

Two were arrested Monday in the area of Imperial Way and West Nye Lane for drug possession and other charges, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Michael Jervik-Harrell, 25, was arrested for possession of a stun gun by an ex-felon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Melissa Renae Argetsinger, 32, for felony possession of a controlled substance, three misdemeanor warrants, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, deputies made contact with the two after a call for service in the area. The woman advised she had warrants for her arrest. Dispatch advised she had two Carson City warrants and a warrant out of Sparks Municipal Court. She was arrested.

A deputy deployed his K9 partner Tarzan who performed a free air sniff of the vehicle the couple had been standing near. The dog alerted positive for a drug odor on both sides of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was done. Deputies located a pink backpack on the driver's seat. It was searched where two used meth pipes with broken stems were found in a black bag. Both pipes still had methamphetamine residue inside of them.

On the passenger side there was a black backpack. Inside the locked backpack, deputies located a glass vial consistent with methamphetamine, three hypodermic needles, and two clear plastic baggies with a white powdery substance consistent with methamphetamine. Also located was a metal beer cap with the bottom burned, which is commonly referred to as a "cooker."

A further search of the backpack was done during the jail intake search. Inside was a black, fully functional stun gun. Due to the man being an ex-felon, he was charged subsequently for possession of a stun gun by a felon. Bail for Jerik-Herrell: $23,637. Bail for Argetsinger: $4,605.

The deputy made contact with Duvall, who said he was homeless and waiting for a bus ticket so he could return to Reno. A records check was done through Carson City dispatch that revealed he had a sex offender failure to notify, felony warrant for his arrest and was also on parole for being a sex offender. He was arrested.

The Department of Parole and probation added an additional charge for violation of parole. He was placed on a no bail hold through parole and probation. Bail for failure to register: $2,500.

— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday morning in the area of Fall and Lee streets for misdemeanor warrants alleging petit theft and violation of a suspended sentence. The warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,250.

According to the arrest report, a deputy conducted a subject stop at 8:14 p.m. and met with three people. The officer asked them for IDs, which were run for warrant checks. All three consented to a search. The woman admitted to having a "kit" in her purse.

A deputy located a syringe located with a controlled substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, a spoon with residue, a tourniquet, a cotton ball and 3 small baggies with cotton balls commonly used with heroin, with some having heroin residue on them. She was arrested. Bail: $4,474.

— A 24-year-old Minden man was arrested early Tuesday morning for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gregory Hobie was arrested at 4:30 a.m. in the area of Sierra Vista Lane. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area of Mexican Dam Road and Arroyo Vista Lane for a non-injury accident.

Deputies made contact with Hobie who was sitting in the back right passenger seat of Ford Explorer. A deputy observed the man to be slightly disoriented. He was asked to exit the vehicle and was asked by a deputy if he would consent to a pat down of his person for weapons.

A deputy felt and recovered a methamphetamine pipe and a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine in the man's left chest pocket. He was arrested for suspicion of methamphetamine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.
