Preserve Nevada honors contributors to Silver State's historic preservation

Two families of rural Nevada business leaders, two longtime state officials who have helped save numerous historic treasures, and an organization dedicated to rescuing Nevada women from obscurity recently became the inaugural recipients of the Preserve Nevada Awards for contributions to historic preservation.

Zumba is a dance form and aerobics fitness program. Zumba involves dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic Latin and pop music from countries around the world. The choreography incorporates hip hop, soca, samba, salsa, meringue and mambo.

Squats and lunges are also included. Students should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes, and bring a towel, water and a positive attitude! No prior dance experience is required - Zumba is about making friends, getting a workout, and enjoying yourself!

Carson City man held for false imprisonment, other charges following apartment incident

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday and faces multiple charges including gross misdemeanor false imprisonment after an incident at a Peter's Street apartment, a sheriff's deputy reported. A woman also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer.

'Star Wars' themed bicycle event Saturday to benefit Carson City Schools Foundation
