Sierra Lutheran High School announces area summer camp offerings

Sierra Lutheran High School, in collaboration with Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School and Mt. Cross Ministries, has released its 2019 Summer Programs registration. Collectively, the three entities will offer seven unique summer programs, including two week-long overnight programs.
Sierra Lutheran will offer its annual basketball camp June 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The program is open to boys and girls entering grades 5-8. The cost is $100.
Additionally, SLHS will host Just Draw & Paint It, which are independent visual art and piano lesson programs that can be taken as a set or independently. Just Draw & Paint It is for students entering grades 6-8 and will take place July 8-11. The art component will run from 9:00-10:25 a.m., and the piano lesson section will take run from 10:30-12:00 p.m. Each program costs $90.
For families seeking academic enrichment for their students, SLHS will also offer a Study Skills Workshop covering goal setting, note taking skills, close reading strategies, time management, organizational solutions, and more. The camp, which is open to students entering grades 7-9 will run from June 24-27 from 9:00 to noon. The cost of the program is $100.
Bethlehem Lutheran will host two youth programs this summer, featuring Camp Invention, June 17-21, and Vacation Bible School (VBS), August 7-10. Camp Invention, which is open for students grades K-6, is a STEM-based program that teaches creative problem-solving skills and offers a variety of stimulating hands-on STEM-related activities. The camp runs from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m and costs $100. VBS is a free camp for children entering grades K-6 to enjoy fun activities while learning Bible lessons and how to apply them to their lives. The hours of VBS run from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wed-Fri, and 12:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Mt. Cross Ministries, located in Santa Cruz County, CA, will offer two week-long overnight programs for students entering grades 7-9. Trailblazer camp (July 7-12 or July 28-August 2), is broad based camp offering activities ranging from ropes course training to biking, geocaching, crafts, swimming, Bible studies and more. Also available will be the Surf ‘n’ Turf Camp (July 28-August 2), which will offer professional surf lessons, hiking, camping, and other outdoor programs. Trailblazer camp costs $435; Surf ‘n’ Turf Camp costs $535 for the week.
