Carson City emergency crews respond to motorcycle crash at Highway 50 near Spooner junction
UPDATE 407PM: A Nevada Highway Patrol trooper reports that the incident on Highway 50 eastbound lane near Spooner junction involved a female motorcycle passenger who fell off the back of a motorcycle. She suffered back injuries and was taken via ambulance.

UPDATE: Care Flight, which was scheduled to land near the Park and Ride at Spooner Junction, has been canceled. The rider was taken by ambulance to Renown Medical Center in Reno. We will update as we get more information.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called to motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon on Highway 50 near Spooner Junction in the eastbound lane.
The crash was reported at around 3:18 p.m. and is about 1.5 miles from Spooner Junction. Care Flight has been ordered and will land at the Park and Ride located at the bottom of Spooner Junction. Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area as emergency vehicles arrive.
Reports to dispatch was the rider was traveling at 50 mph and was thrown from the motorcycle in a single vehicle crash.
