Good morning Carson City, and happy June! We have a ton of events going on today in our beloved capital city, with the June wine walk, the first day of the farmer’s market, a brew fest at Fuji park, and more! With a high of 75, it’s shaping up to finally start to feel like summer (knock on wood).

Heading into a jam-packed weekend of events around the Carson City region, there's a bevy of activities Friday to get your started. Lace up your shoes for a morning walk at Riverview Park, and then head on over to the Nevada State Museum for a coin press demonstration, and tours that explore anthropology and Nevada history. Later there's a cruise night gathering at Carson Mall to benefit Safe Grad Night, an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Governor's Mansion to benefit Carson City's homeless, live music at Living the Good Life and A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, and much more. The second annual Rock Crawlers and Brews fest will be held once again at the Fuji Park fairgrounds in Carson City this Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This family-friendly event is a rock crawler truck show hosted by Shoe Tree Brewing Company. In addition to beers on tap, vendor booths from local businesses will be joining the festivities to sell their wares and visit with the community.

Two exciting fairs return to Carson City, kicking off the warm days and long summer nights.

The Nevada State Fair returns to Mill Park in Carson City from June 6-9 featuring four days of entertainment, exciting carnival rides, food, music and much more.

Come on down and find all your treasures at out monthly Indoor Flea Market. Lots of great vendors selling antiques, arts, crafts, jewelry and so much more, you never know what you will find! Good morning Carson City, and happy Sunday! I'm sorry to tell you we're going to have another sad-weather day, with scattered showers, a high of 52 and a low of 34. But maybe mother nature is just trying to add a little extra water to the lakes and rivers before shutting down for a hot summer? On the docket today we have a pollinator garden site work day, the final performance of Western Nevada Musical Theatre's "Crazy for You" and a National Adoption Weekend event at Petsmart with Res-Que, so stop by and give those pups a snuggle!

Heading into Saturday, May 18, 2019 we say welcome to the weekend Carson City. Activities abound throughout the region. Bring an umbrella as the forecast calls for some showers. But above all, enjoy the events and activities lined up in Carson City, Carson Valley, Mound House, Silver City, Virginia City and Dayton areas.

The weekend is at our doorstep as we head into Friday, May 10, 2019. Even though forecasters say we may have showers this weekend, the cool spring rain won't dampen the fun. We have a bevy of activities lined up Friday including the opening of the Transcontinental Railroad exhibit at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, day 1 of the two-day Mother's Day Plant Sale hosted by The Greenhouse Project, RSVP's Spring Celebration and Carnival at Mills Park, a day hike, art showings, live music and more.

On Saturday, May 4, volunteers joined Lyndsey Boyer, the Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Senior Natural Resource Specialist and Marenna Disbro, the Carson City Weed Coalition Coordinator to help pull 80 pounds of poison hemlock around Bailey’s Pond.

Come on down to Fuji Park on Old Clear Creek Road in Carson City and shop for great treasure such as antiques, collectibles, arts crafts, jewelry and so much more. Open Sat. What a week it was Carson City, and it isn't even over yet. Heading into Friday, May 3, 2019, we're looking at continued sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s. There's a host of activities Friday and, looking ahead, a bevy of fun Saturday including a Mother's Day craft fair at the Carson City Community Center, a Star Wars themed bicycle safety day, a wine, cheese and dessert ride aboard the V&T, an early opening of the downtown farmer's market, the May Downtown Carson City Wine Walk, a memorial walk, presentations, comedy, live music and more. May is National Bike Month, celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Here in Carson City, Muscle Powered hosts several fun and exciting bicycle-themed events throughout the month to satisfy everyone from the first-time cyclist to the long-term veterans.

Join the Carson City Weed Coalition to hand-pull the noxious weed poison hemlock at Fuji Park. The event is Saturday, May 4, 9 to 11 a.m. Please wear long pants, sleeves, a hat, and closed toed shoes. Poison hemlock can cause skin irritation, but is not poisonous unless ingested.

Fuji Park is located at 601 Old Clear Creek Road in south Carson City. Those who want to participate should park at the Fuji Park Exhibit Center.

Headed into Saturday, April 27, 2019 we're looking at another picture-perfect spring weather day and cool overnight temperatures. There's lots of activities ahead, including a colorful fun run at Mills Park, a free paper and document recycling event hosted by Debug Computer, a prescription drug roundup, the Silver State's own celebration of the Aloha State, a Carson High School speech team fundraiser at Flavors of India, art showings and sales and a fundraiser at Flat Earth Pizza for a wonderful Carson City woman who is in the throes of cancer. Residents and visitors are invited to watch the Mounted Patrol Night Sensory Firework training exercise at the Fuji Park Fairgrounds rodeo arena in Carson City, this Friday, April 26, set to begin around 7 p.m., weather permitting. Attendees must park in the rodeo entrance parking lot. All ages are welcome to observe and cheer officers as they attempt to triumph and complete the roughest test in the series.

University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s 4-H will host its annual Capital City Farm Days this Thursday and Friday, April 11-12 at Carson City Fairgrounds, Fuji Park.

Good morning Carson City! Today is Saturday, April 6. While it's going to be a bit cloudy today, we'll have a high of 56 degrees. Sunday and Monday are almost hitting 70, though, with highs at 67 and 68!

On the docket for today is a Celtic Music concert, a Ducks Unlimited Banquet, the April Carson City Wine Walk, farming workshops, kitten parties, and more.

With a little help from the wind and a birds-eye view, we're flying into Friday, April 5, 2019 with plenty to do and see as we get ready for the weekend. National Weather Service forecasters say it will be a breezy day with some rain. But don't let that dampen your day as there's art showings, live music and hilarious comedy venues at the Brewery Arts Center and Carson Nugget.

There will be a "Celebration of the Life and Times of Donna Curtis" on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the dog park at Fuji Park in Carson City. Curtis died Nov. 1, 2018.

In 2013, Donna Curtis spearheaded the purchase of a memorial bench on behalf of Carson City Democratic Women in the new off-leash dog park at the west end of Fuji Park.

Join Nevada Sharks Fastpitch for the 2019 Nevada Sharks Fundraiser: Beer and Bräts at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall in Carson City on Friday, May 10.

This is a 21-plus event with all you can eat and drink, music, a door prize, a silent auction, and raffles to include the raffle of a Henry Rifle this year. The event begins at 6 p.m.

Good morning Carson City and welcome to Tuesday, April 2, 2019. We're looking at a steady flow of showers today, according to the National Weather Service with snow in the upper elevations of the Sierra. There is a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight for the west slope of the Sierra. Today in town we have events that range from a Carson High School team fundraiser to movies to politics to fitness. The Carson City chapter of Ducks Unlimited is hosting its annual banquet April 6 at Fuji Park Exhibit Hall. The banquet will feature high-quality firearms and art work, collector’s knife sets, carved decoys, and K2 coolers. The event is family friendly with special youth activities and drawings.

There is something about the start of Spring that makes Sundays seem more pleasant; despite the fact that the weekend is on its downhill slide. There are always pleasant things to do in Carson City come rain, snow, wind or shine.
