Good morning Carson City, and happy June! We have a ton of events going on today in our beloved capital city, with the June wine walk, the first day of the farmer’s market, a brew fest at Fuji park, and more! With a high of 75, it’s shaping up to finally start to feel like summer (knock on wood).

Heading into a jam-packed weekend of events around the Carson City region, there's a bevy of activities Friday to get your started. Lace up your shoes for a morning walk at Riverview Park, and then head on over to the Nevada State Museum for a coin press demonstration, and tours that explore anthropology and Nevada history. Later there's a cruise night gathering at Carson Mall to benefit Safe Grad Night, an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Governor's Mansion to benefit Carson City's homeless, live music at Living the Good Life and A to Zen, laughs at the Carson Comedy Club, and much more. Carson City's Shoe Tree Brewing Co. to host 'Rockcrawlers and Brews' Saturday at Fuji Park

The second annual Rock Crawlers and Brews fest will be held once again at the Fuji Park fairgrounds in Carson City this Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This family-friendly event is a rock crawler truck show hosted by Shoe Tree Brewing Company. In addition to beers on tap, vendor booths from local businesses will be joining the festivities to sell their wares and visit with the community.

Nevada State Fair, Carson City Fair return to Carson City

Two exciting fairs return to Carson City, kicking off the warm days and long summer nights.

The Nevada State Fair returns to Mill Park in Carson City from June 6-9 featuring four days of entertainment, exciting carnival rides, food, music and much more.

Good morning Carson City, and happy Sunday! I'm sorry to tell you we're going to have another sad-weather day, with scattered showers, a high of 52 and a low of 34. But maybe mother nature is just trying to add a little extra water to the lakes and rivers before shutting down for a hot summer? On the docket today we have a pollinator garden site work day, the final performance of Western Nevada Musical Theatre's "Crazy for You" and a National Adoption Weekend event at Petsmart with Res-Que, so stop by and give those pups a snuggle!

The weekend is at our doorstep as we head into Friday, May 10, 2019. Even though forecasters say we may have showers this weekend, the cool spring rain won't dampen the fun. We have a bevy of activities lined up Friday including the opening of the Transcontinental Railroad exhibit at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, day 1 of the two-day Mother's Day Plant Sale hosted by The Greenhouse Project, RSVP's Spring Celebration and Carnival at Mills Park, a day hike, art showings, live music and more.

Volunteers pull 80 pounds of poison hemlock from Fuji Park, second weed pull set for June 8

On Saturday, May 4, volunteers joined Lyndsey Boyer, the Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Senior Natural Resource Specialist and Marenna Disbro, the Carson City Weed Coalition Coordinator to help pull 80 pounds of poison hemlock around Bailey’s Pond.

Join the Carson City Weed Coalition to hand-pull the noxious weed poison hemlock at Fuji Park. The event is Saturday, May 4, 9 to 11 a.m. Please wear long pants, sleeves, a hat, and closed toed shoes. Poison hemlock can cause skin irritation, but is not poisonous unless ingested.

Fuji Park is located at 601 Old Clear Creek Road in south Carson City. Those who want to participate should park at the Fuji Park Exhibit Center.

Residents and visitors are invited to watch the Mounted Patrol Night Sensory Firework training exercise at the Fuji Park Fairgrounds rodeo arena in Carson City, this Friday, April 26, set to begin around 7 p.m., weather permitting. Attendees must park in the rodeo entrance parking lot. All ages are welcome to observe and cheer officers as they attempt to triumph and complete the roughest test in the series.

Celebration of Life for Donna Curtis set for April 20 at Fuji Park

There will be a "Celebration of the Life and Times of Donna Curtis" on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the dog park at Fuji Park in Carson City. Curtis died Nov. 1, 2018.

In 2013, Donna Curtis spearheaded the purchase of a memorial bench on behalf of Carson City Democratic Women in the new off-leash dog park at the west end of Fuji Park.
