Laps for Lungs at Carson City BMX track set for Friday

The laps will be done during the practice times (6-7 pm). You do not need to be a USABMX member to participate in this worthy cause. You do need to fill out a 1-day trial membership (free).

Carson High School will again open its doors a little wider and longer for the 3rd Annual Back-to-School Night like no other Sept. 9. Open House, Open Hearts is a community event focused on building bridges to local services for teens and their families, increasing parent and guardian engagement at CHS, and celebrating the community, creativity, and diverse talents of Carson City.

Lap for Lungs CF Fundraiser at Carson City BMX Track
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 09/07/2019 - 8:37amLaps for Lungs fundraiser at Carson City BMX Track (1555 Livermore Lane, Carson City) will take place Friday September 13th, 2019 from 6 - 7:30pm. There is a $5.00 donation asked for the fundraiser. (Regular Racing Fees apply for the night).
For each lap you ride during practice, a ticket will be placed into a jar for the drawing. The more laps you ride the more chances to win!

There's no better place than Virginia City for a parade, and the Comstock continues to honor those who use elbow grease to keep the gears of our great American way grinding. Thank you. Other activities include a Tahoe beach cleanup, art showings, swing dancing and an interfaith picnic at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Carson City, where folks of all religious stripes come together in fellowship and kindness. Carson City Fire Department respond to injured motorcycle rider in Brunswick Canyon
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sun, 09/01/2019 - 4:11pmUPDATE: The injured motorcycle rider was treated by Carson City Fire Department personnel and flown via Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno, said battalion Chief Jason Danen. His condition is unknown at this time.

Carson City Fire Department was called Sunday afternoon to the Brunswick Canyon area for an injured motorcycle rider in the backcountry. A CareFlight helicopter was ordered and landed in the area near the patient.

Reader John Green Jr. snapped photos of some of the riders practicing Friday afternoon to get ready for the big race.
Amateur riders will show their skills throughout the day, and professional races will begin tonight and tomorrow at 7 p.m.
