The Epic Rides Off-Road Series is a nationally recognized mountain bike festival featuring endurance racing, music, biking exhibitions and more. The City entered into a five-year agreement with Epic Rides and the Carson City Culture and Tourism Authority regarding the Carson City Off-Road event to be held the third weekend of each June.

Heading into Monday, June 24, 2019 the first day of the work week and we say welcome to summer, Carson City. Expect highs in the mid-80s. Get on out there and keep the blood pumping and oxygen flowing with an early morning walk or bike ride. Heading into the weekend, there's a bevy of events around the Carson City region that brings a cool breeze to the first three days of summer. The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

Hosted by Epic Rides, a record turnout is expected to fill the streets of downtown Carson City when the fourth annual Carson City Off-Road returns June 28-30.

Heading into Tuesday, June 18, 2019 we're looking at continued warming around the region with a daytime high around 91. Temperatures are expected to actually lower toward the end of the week. Events around town Tuesday include a Muscle Powered walk, hike and bike ride, yoga, exercises for the mind and body hosted by the Carson City Emblem Club, political gatherings, art activities and more.

Carson City is getting better at preserving its history after losing some of its most iconic structures to neglect and disuse. Think the V&T Roundhouse and Children’s Home, though there were many more historic structures that met the wrecking ball ultimately changing how Carson Street looks today.

Journey of Hope riders arrived at Western Nevada College in Carson City on Friday with the enthusiasm and support of the capital city community. The group of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity members bike ride across the country each year to bring awareness and support to people with disabilities.

Good day Carson City. It is Sunday, June 9, 2019. Events and activities continue or wrap up around the area. You can visit Motor Car weekend today at the Nevada State Railroad Museum or take the train from Virginia City to Carson City. It's the final day of the fair at Mills Park and Carson Valley Days in Douglas County. Plus there's the 35th annual Pops Party Concert at Carson City’s Capital Amphitheater to top-off a fun-filled weekend.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony held on Friday, quite a number of bees were seen buzzing around the new bee hotel soon to choose their future accommodation.

Released behind the Carson Tahoe Health Cancer Center at the trailhead of the one-mile long Serenity Trail on Thursday, 150 Mason bees couldn’t wait to be freed from their boxes by their foster mother, Debra Conrad, a member of the class who kept the bees until they could be released.

Tuesday Evening Ladies MTB Ride
June 11, 5:30 pm- Meetup at Foothill Dr just off of N Winnie Ln.

Every Tuesday evening from 5:30-700 pm. Rides are open to all skill levels. This is a "no drop" ride so no one is left behind. All riders must carry water and have a mountain bike in safe working condition, helmet, closed toed shoes, spare tube, pump and tools to change a flat tire. Sunday Ride
June 9, 8 am- Meet at Fremont Elementary School, 1511 Firebox Rd, Carson City, NV 89701, in the south parking lot, next to the Linear Ditch Trail.

The Journey of Hope North team arrive in Carson City as part of a 4,370-mile summer-long journey from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. on Saturday, August 10. The team will dedicate their summer to supporting people with disabilities through grant funding and community engagement. This group of 22 cyclists and six crew members is one of three Journey of Hope teams cycling across the country. This event, organized by The Ability Experience, is now in its 32nd year.

With the weather reaching the mid-80s, now is the perfect time to get out and explore during a jam-packed three days around the Carson City region. Friday has plenty of events to get you to the weekend.

Ever want to try the extreme sport of BMX? Now's the time to try. Carson City BMX is holding its annual Olympic Day this Sunday. Come ride and race the track. You do not have to be a USABMX member for this race and it's free.

Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space will offer two bicycle programs this summer, one designed for children and the other for adults and teens.

The next Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting will be held Thursday, June 6, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.
