Dear Brewery Arts Center family,

The Brewery Arts Center is committed to the safety and well being of the citizens of Carson City and with the rapid spread of Covid-19, we are taking certain precautions. Please note the following changes in schedule:
The Artisan Shop will be closed this weekend and we will be sanitizing the art and surfaces, making them safe for when we re-open.

Heading into the weekend, activities abound around the Carson City region over the next three days. We should note you'll want to check ahead of time in case of cancellations.

The Nevada Families First program presents a day of fun at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada. We will start our visit with story time followed by an art activity, then work our way through the museum and play with your child/children. We have reserved an hour and a half for our group connection, but you are welcome to stay longer.

Heading into Thursday, happenings lined up include a monthly meeting of the Carson City Native and Newcomers, a preserving history workshop through the Nevada State Archives, trivia night at Bella Vita Bistro, an introduction into improv comedy at the Brewery Arts Center, a Muscle Powered afternoon hike and more. Heading into the middle of the work work, activities around town include a yoga class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, a midweek meditation series offered at Carson City Yoga, conversational Spanish classes at Partnership Carson City, Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, a presentation of "Valiant Women of The Vote" Mix and Mingle honoring the 19th Amendment at the Governor's Mansion, Ladies Night at Bella Vita Bistro, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and much more. Artsy Fartsy Gallery is hosting an online auction in which all proceeds will benefit the Carson Tahoe SPCA.
This auction will begin March 10 and go on daily through March 24.

The first LGBTQ and Friends Social will be Saturday, March 14th, 2-5pm at Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint. Your RSVP is required for the luncheon. The luncheon is $12 per person NOT including gratuity. Please be generous to your server.

The monthly Downtown Carson City Wine Walk takes place Saturday followed by a performance from Tom Petty and Rod Stewart tribute bands during The Do Drop In’s “A Face in the Crowd” homeless fundraiser at Fuji Park. St. Teresa School will host its 17th annual Crab Feed Fundraiser. Combined with comedy at the Carson Nugget and Brewery Arts Center, the Carson City region is in store for a busy weekend. Happenings lined up include a Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting, auditions for the Carson City Follies show in July, trivia night at Bella Vita Bistro, a wood design workshop at Rustically Divine, an artist reception for Galen Brown and Emily Kray at Western Nevada College and a Muscle Powered afternoon hike. Art in Motion presents it's Performance Groups taking the spotlight in Carson City this year for their annual Spotlight Dance Competition. This is a free public event. The Carson City Department of Arts & Culture, in partnership with the Carson City Clerk-Recorder’s Office, proudly announced its first ‘I Voted’ sticker design competition.

The 14th annual Jazz and Beyond is sponsoring Carson City Open Studios Tour. This contemporary cultural event is designed to expand exposure for local artists and beyond by offering a wide variety of exceptional visual arts and open studio space for art-lovers from our region to view.

After a gangbuster start to the winter season, a lot of us in Tahoe are wondering where all the snow has gone. Sitting here at the end of February with snowpack numbers dwindling, snow lovers are chomping at the bit, waiting to see the storm track shift back our way.

Combining her passion for the Sierra Nevada wilderness and her love of painting, art instructor and professional watercolorist, Dana Childs is hosting a series of Plein Aire Painting Outings & Hikes.

Carson City's Greenhouse Project is hosting a lunch and dinner fundraiser toward a healthier State Capitol. The 2020 Celtic Music Series will continue on Feb. 15, 2020 in the Brewery Art Center’s performance hall in Carson City at 7 p.m. with Fortunate Strangers. This is the sixth season of Carson’s Celtic Music series.
