Carson City Fire Department and East Fork Fire Protection District have sent brush engines Monday to battle the Woodchuck Fire burning west of Reno.

The all-new Healthy Energy Center in Carson City is holding a fair Sunday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 515 W. Fourth Street.

A motley crew of buccaneers, led by Captain Dogfish Briggins, came ashore at the Carson Mall in Carson City Saturday providing live demonstrations of pirate life on the high seas.

Emergency dispatch reported shots fired at Walmart on Market Street in North Carson City at around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
