The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal vehicle crash in Lyon County that happened late Sunday morning on US 95A and Quince Avenue in Silver Springs.

Between Friday, Jan. 15 and Jan. 25, 2021, Nevada’s law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be Joining Forces and citing distracted drivers. Nevada law clearly states that any use of a handheld electronic device — cell phone, mp3 player, GPS device, etc. — while driving is illegal.

Law enforcement around Carson City and Northern Nevada will be in "saturation" mode throughout the day and into the new year looking for suspected DUI drivers.

UPDATE: 5:30 p.m.: the scene has been turned over to NHP.

UPDATE: 4:53 p.m.: There were two vehicles involved both with critical damage, with three patients total complaining of minor injuries. Careflight is being released.

UPDATE: 4:51 p.m.: The highway is being shut down.

UPDATE 4:50 p.m.: Careflight is in the area and ground units requested it to stay nearby in the air in case transport is needed.

UPDATE: Dispatch advised it may be closer to the Bellevue Bridge.

A rollover accident was reported at 4:45 p.m. Friday evening at the Eastlake exit.

A 26-year-old Fallon woman died from injuries in a vehicle crash that happened Wednesday, Nov. 25 on US-50A and Nevada Pacific Parkway in Lyon County near Fernley, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

There was a fatal crash Wednesday morning involving a pedestrian near the intersection of North Carson Street and Medical Parkway, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirmed.

A South Lake Tahoe man has been identified as the victim of a fatal head-on crash that happened Tuesday night on Highway 50 near Zephyr Cove in Douglas County.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Wednesday morning to a vehicle crash involving a bicycle rider in the area of William Street near Mills Park.

UPDATE: Both lanes were reopened shortly before midnight Tuesday. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

UPDATE 10:17PM: A 72-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured and flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno Monday night following a vehicle crash near a crosswalk at the intersection of Hot Springs Road and Pine Lane. Carson City Sheriff's Office Sgt. Nate Brehm said the driver of the vehicle is cooperating and told officers she didn't see the man.

Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor, said Brehm. The victim was conscious and suffered injuries to his leg and hip. NHP is also involved in the accident investigation.

CARSON CITY — Nevada Department of Public Safety Director George Togliatti has appointed Anne Carpenter as Colonel of the Nevada DPS, Highway Patrol Division. Colonel Carpenter officially takes command of the Nevada Highway Patrol on Monday, October 19, 2020. She will oversee 491 sworn officers and 96 non-sworn personnel.

On Thursday, October 15, 2020, at approximately 3:07 a.m., Troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a crash involving a single vehicle on US-395A and Hobart Road in Carson City.

East Fork Fire responded Thursday afternoon to a brush fire in the China Springs area on the west side of Highway 395. Multiple resources are responding, including a brush unit from Carson City that was placed on standby.

On Friday, June 26, 2020, at approximately 10:20 pm Pacific Time, a Trooper made a traffic stop on River St., near 12th St. in Elko, Nevada for a suspected traffic violation.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the victim in a fatal crash Thursday involving three motorcycles on State Route 207 Kingsbury Grade near Lake Tahoe in Douglas County.

A two vehicle head-on crash Wednesday evening on Highway 395 near Muller Lane in Douglas County shut down the northbound lane of the highway, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
