Carson City's Silver and Snowflake Festival draws crowd, including Grinch and dog Max
The annual Silver and Snowflake festival and tree lighting ceremony at the Nevada State Capitol building in Carson City brought big crowds, festive cheer, and free sleigh rides.
“I love that the community can come together like this for the holidays,” said Jenni Hood, whose nephew Brayden was one of the fifth grade singers.
Alatte served free hot cocoa for the festivities, and Borges Sleigh Rides provided free horse drawn sleigh rides to merry attendees on Carson Street.
The event was put on by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.
The fifth grade carolers sang holiday songs from Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer to Feliz Navidad, and the crowd joined in.
“I thought it was really cute,” said Alex Alcantar, who was attending the tree lighting for the first time.
Surprise guests during the concert included Santa Claus, the Grinch, and the much beloved Max, the one and only dog of the Grinch.
