Carson City 2021 Turkey Trot returns Thanksgiving morning to Governor's Mansion

Registration is underway for Carson City's ultimate family fitness event and healthy warmup before Thanksgiving family feasts with the annual 5K and 8K Turkey Trot walk/run and the Gobble Wobble Kids Fun Run at the Nevada Governor's Mansion.

After having the 2020 event virtually due to COVID-19, this annual event hosted by St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School returns for 2021, giving participants a chance to build up their appetites and metabolism ahead of Thanksgiving dinner and football games later in the day.

Event shirts are available for all participants. Organizers note, however, that there will be no-same day registration available, so sign up now. Go here to register.

Pumpkin pies and medals will be given to the top three finishers for each race.

Organizers are also collecting non-perishable food items and winter clothing at the race to help our friends and community members in need. Here is what you need to know:

T-shirt pick-ups, route map pick-up will be at Blue Zone Sports on Topsy on Tuesday, Nov. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Registration: 5K and 8K, $35 per person; Kids 12 and under $20 for all races.
