Stay Safe, Carson City: Nevada Day Parade route and safety information
The Nevada Day Parade in Carson City begins with the Divisions 1-4 lineup at 8:30 a.m. and Divisions 5-10 lineup at 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. start. The parade will end sometime around 2 p.m. The route will be closed from 5 a.m. until 3 p.m. Read on for safety information to make your parade day a most memorable one.

Highway 395, Carson Street will be closed from 5 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. from Winnie Lane to Fairview Drive; Traffic will be rerouted, but anyone attempting to get through town in an efficient manner should avoid the Downtown area all together.
There will be a Medical Tent at the corner of W. Telegraph and Carson Street in front of the Laxalt Building, located at 401 N. Carson Street.
Temperatures are predicted to be in the high 70s on Parade Day, so please make sure to stay hydrated and bring sun protection. Sun screen, hats, parasols, or shade covers are recommended.
There will be no unauthorized drones allowed over the parade route, and this will be enforced.
As always, there will be an increase in police presence on parade day focused on preventing intoxicated driving. Please make plans ahead of time for transportation if you plan on drinking, as there is a zero tolerance policy for drunk driving.
Options for transportation: Uber and Lyft are two online apps you can get through your smartphones, much like taxi companies, but payments are done online instead of in person.
