Carson City Director of Animal Services resigns
Pat Wiggins, director of Animal Services for Carson City, has resigned after 10 years of service.
According to a news release by Carson City Health and Human Services, Wiggins is responsible for recently bringing the progressive “Trap Neuter Release” program for feral cats to Carson City and was a regular presenter at Capital City Farm Days, an annual educational program for students held at Fuji Park.
“He will be missed,” said Sandy Wallin, 4H and Youth Programs. “At Farm Days, Pat taught kids how to behave around stray dogs. It was very successful and the children adored it.”
Wiggins regularly visited the elementary schools and to educate students about animal safety and awareness. “His presentations were one of our premier community outreach programs,” said Marena Works, CCHHS Director.
The position of Animal Services Director is currently posted on the Carson City Human Services website.
