Discount variety store Dollar Tree to open at former Carson City 99 Cents Store
Dollar Tree, a popular discount variety store, will open as the new tenant at the former 99 Cents Store on William Street in Carson City.
Located in the Plaza 50 Shopping Center, 2080 E. William St., temporary signage went up earlier this month, with fixture work happening inside the store. It is unknown at this time when the chain plans to open at its new east Carson City location but according to local commercial real estate outfit The Hone Company, it will happen sometime within the next few months.
Locally, there are Dollar Tree locations at the Northgate Shopping Center, 2709 North Carson Street and at the Valley Center, 911 Topsy Lane.
Dollar Tree is a multi-price-point chain of 15,115 stores in the United States. The stores are known for stocking a variety of products, including national, regional and private-label brands.
Stores feature departments that focus on health and beauty, food and snacks, party, seasonal décor, housewares, glassware, dinnerware, household cleaning supplies, candy, toys, gifts, gift bags and wrap, stationery, craft supplies, teaching supplies, automotive, electronics, pet supplies and books.
Most Dollar Tree stores also sell frozen foods and dairy items such as milk, eggs, pizza, ice cream, frozen dinners, and pre-made baked goods.
Those looking for employment can be at the location Saturdays, 12 noon to 3 p.m. The company is hiring assistant store managers, cashiers and part time associates, according to a flyer taped to the front door. Applicants should speak to the store manager for an immediate interview.
Manager and hourly positions can also be applied for online at www.dollartree.com/careers or text "Dollar" to 58046, according to the flyer.
