It's Your City: 5th annual Sassabration arrives this Saturday
This week's edition of It's Your City features Adam Whitney, filling in for host Cortney Bloomer, with special guest Jayme Watts, owner of Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint in Carson City and co-founder of this Saturday's annual Sassabration.
Celebrating its 5th year Sassabration is this Saturday, July 13. Event founders Jayme Watts and Tony Fish, started the celebration as a way to reach out and say thank you to their community for supporting them. It has since grown into a region-wide celebration of diversity, community and equality.

Come find out what our community is and can be. Parade begins at 11 a.m. from the Brewery Arts Center to Sassafras, Carson Hot Springs and Shoe Tree Brewing Co. Speakers at noon, music from 12:15 to 8 p.m.
Broke Kings will appear in concert at Carson Hot Springs. Event activities include live music, performance artists, food, vendors, and free admittance to the Carson Hot Springs pool, from 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. The Sassabration celebration raises money this year for PFLAG Carson Region, the Ron Wood Family Resource Center and Transgender Allies Group (TAG).
