Carson City Chamber honors Best of the Best at annual meeting
With some help from the Ghost of Mark Twain, Carson City Chamber of Commerce celebrated its accomplishments for the year at their annual meeting Thursday evening at The Martin Hotel Restaurant.
The Chamber honored eight community members with Best of the Best Awards. Pictured above, back row (left): Matt Helmers of Southwest Gas and David Syfrig of Arizona Pipeline received the Dream Big Award; Bill Miles of Miles Construction received the Economic Development Award; Florence Phillips of ESl In Home Program of Northern Nevada receive Non-Profit of the Year award; Dan Stucky, engineer for Carson City, received the Government Employee of the Year award; outgoing Chamber chairperson Bob Fredlund. The Leadership class project was the much-acclaimed Bee Habitat.
Chamber Board Chairperson Bob Fredlund passed the gavel to incoming chairperson Lisa Lee, executive director for Advocates to End Domestic Violence. Three new board members were introduced: Diane Rush of Carson Tahoe Hospital; Bob Shouppe of CGI, Inc.; and Stacy Woodbury of Southwest Gas.
