Douglas County Sheriff’s Office asks citizens to be aware of suspicious activity involving dark SUV

Between Tuesday, May 25th and Friday, May 28th, 2021 several reports of damage to private residences and businesses in the Douglas County area have been reported. The damage appears to have been caused by a BB gun. A juvenile was even struck by a BB while walking from school.

The suspects are believed to be in dark SUV with Texas license plates. It also believed there are at least two people involved and they are shooting from the vehicle.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking the citizens to be aware of the incidents and keep a look out for any suspicious activity regarding a dark SUV with Texas plates.

UPDATE 6:52PM: Firefighters were able to get the upper hand on the Stephanie Fire burning in northeast Douglas County, with a reported 10 acres burned. It was originally reported as 18 acres but was downsized. The cause was a vehicle. Douglas County notes there wasn't a plane crash that had been rumored. East Fork Fire and multiple agencies responded.
