The Gourmand Golf Scramble returns after a one year hiatus for its 19th tournament. The event takes place June 2, at Eagle Valley on the West Course. The tournament, sponsored by The Cracker Box, Café at Adele’s and Js’ Old Town Bistro, benefits the Community Counseling Center of Carson City. Breakfast and registration begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The day begins with a buffet breakfast which includes Gin Fizzes. Players will also enjoy gourmet treats along the course provided by the restaurants and the Bloody Mary Bar will be back. A hofbrau style lunch follows the tournament.
New this year: a great prize for a hole in one. Carson City Toyota Scion will give 2013 Toyota Corolla to any player who makes a hole in one on #17 during the tournament.
All levels of players are welcome, good golfing skills aren’t required; everyone wins a prize! Entry forms are available at The Cracker Box, Js’ Bistro, Cafe at Adele’s, Eagle Valley Golf Course and the Community Counseling Center. Create your own foursome or we’ll help you put one together. $150 per golfer includes breakfast, lunch and a great tee prize. Sign up as a foursome or let the tournament organizers put one together for you. Hole sponsorships are available as well.
The Community Counseling Center serves residents of Carson City, as well as Douglas, Washoe and Lyon counties regardless of a person’s ability to pay. The center provides a variety of services and treatments for both individuals and families struggling with chemical dependencies.
