Tuesday, March 24: Things to do in Carson City
Can I just designate this Steve McQueen Day? After all it is his birthday, but it’s so more than that. The Great Escape, one of McQueen’s most iconic films, is based the true story of 76 Allied prisoners of war and how, on this day in 1944, they began breaking out of the German camp Stalag Luft III. I wonder if the casting directors knew of the connection.
The calendar says that spring has officially sprung. We in Northern Nevada know that that could mean anything: 80 degree weather or snow storms or both. Take advantage of the weather now by heading up C Hill with Muscle Powered this afternoon. Or you can put some spring in your step with beginning swing lessons at El Charro or with Country Line dance lessons at Carson Lanes.
