Elvis, Fire, and Music: Veterans Healing Camp to host Ancient Spring Celebration Fundraiser
Tickets are going fast for the 3nd Annual Nowruz “New Year” Celebration Feast to benefit Veterans Healing Camp on Saturday, March 30 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Casino Fandango Grand Ballroom in Carson City. Please invite a Veteran to this casual and festive fundraiser that features great food, live music, dancing, silent auction and door prize.
Nowruz is the ancient Persian “New Year” celebrated since 1700 B.C. that occurs on the first day of spring at the vernal equinox. This year, Veterans Healing Camp adds new excitement to the holiday with authentic Elvis impersonator, “Jelvis,” in addition to the two live music acts.
Veterans Healing Camp believes in God, Country and Family. The celebration begins at 5:00 p.m. with fun and fellowship as we honor our Veterans for their service. Sean Cummings will perform a beautiful version of Amazing Grace on bagpipe. American Legion Post 56 Honor Guard will present the colors. “Jelvis” will sing the Star Spangled Banner.
The delicious dinner feast starts at 6:00 p.m. with a selection of entrees, side dishes, salad, fruits, cheese plates, and dessert. Enjoy a cup of healing tea in the magical tea tent draped in stunning, vibrant colors with luxurious fluffy pillows. There will be a short slideshow about the growth and future of the Veterans Healing Camp. It will be an unforgettable evening as Veterans share their personal stories.
The celebration will really heat up with the traditional “fire jump” outside. Sean Cummings will play the theme songs for all branches of our military on bagpipe as we celebrate the New Year by releasing all the negative events from last year and using the energy of the fires to fuel rebirth and new life. The party continues with live music and dancing by Southbound Train. There will also be a silent auction and a door prize drawing. Welcome new spring life with this memorable tribute to our Veterans.
The ticket donation for the exciting Nowruz “New Year” Celebration Feast to benefit Veterans Healing Camp is only $40 and just $10 for children. Tickets are available at the Casino Fandango cashier cage or by contacting Shahla Fadaie at 775-781-2394. Credit cards accepted.
