Carson City offers Energy Conservation Code workshop
The Carson City Building Division and Carson City Fire Department are offering a free public workshop on March 16 to provide information on the newly-adopted International Energy Conservation Code and Wildland-Urban Interface Code.
This workshop is designed to answer questions on how these codes are applied in our local area. The workshop begins at 5 p.m. and will be held at the Community Development Department office located at 108 E. Proctor Street, in Conference Room A.
The latest version of the International Energy Conservation Code goes into effect in Carson City on July 1, 2016. The new code includes changes to energy efficiency requirements in new construction.
The Wildland-Urban Interface Code addresses fire safety issues for construction of homes and other structures in certain areas of the City near areas where wildfires may occur.
An additional workshop is tentatively scheduled for June 15, 2016.
Contractors and design professionals in particular are encouraged to attend. Please email or call skeating@carson.org or 283-7052 to reserve a seat as seating is limited.
