Carson City Sheriff’s Office recent bookings: Man jailed for battery, resisting arrest

A 32-year-old Fallon man was arrested Wednesday, 1:08 a.m in the area of Stewart and Corbett streets for misdemeanor suspicion of obstructing, resisting an officer and battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, the suspect allegedly threw a glass at a bartender. Deputies located the man near Stewart and Corbett streets and attempted to speak with him. The man refused to provide his name. Instead he continually asked the deputy if it was a “legal conflict,” the arrest report states.

The deputy attempted to explain the situation a couple times, but the man refused to answer any questions or provide his name. The man was arrested for obstructing and battery. He continued to be passively resistant and refused to get in the patrol vehicle.

At jail he told officers his name but then refused all other questions, cursed at the officer and threatened to sue for wrongful arrest. Bail: $1,549.

In other arrests:
— A 19-year-old Dayton woman was booked Tuesday, 4:15 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street for suspicion of misdemeanor larceny. According to the arrest report, the woman attempted to leave the Walmart store with $17.74 worth of food items such as chips, beef jerky, popcorn chicken and potato wedges, without paying. Bail: $352.

— A 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 12:24 a.m. in the 2400 block of Scotch Pine Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of being an ex-felon failing to register. Bail: $242.

— A 29-year-old Elko woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Monday, 9:05 p.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued March 1, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

— A 38-year-old Kings Beach, Calif., woman was booked Monday into Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued Aug. 12, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.

— A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 10:23 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Carson Street for a misdemeanor contempt of court, failure to appear warrant, driving without a valid license, and a moving violation. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop after a vehicle swerved to a point to where it appeared out of control. The driver verbally identified herself, said she was late for work and did not have a driver’s license. A computer check showed she had a confirmed warrant for her arrest out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $594.

— A Carson City man was arrested Monday, 4:42 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Lompa Lane for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, open container, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and failure to maintain a marked travel lane.

According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop after observing the driver fail to maintain a lane of travel from Gold Dust West Way to the intersection of Interstate 580. He had been driving between the No. 2 and No. 3 lanes the entire distance, the arrest report states.

A deputy spoke with the man and smelled a strong odor of alcohol. He showed signs of intoxication. He refused to take field sobriety tests and told the deputy to take him to jail. He admitted to having three beers prior, the arrest report states.

The officer again offered him to perform the eye exam portion and a preliminary breath sample. The man complied and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .195. He refused to continue the remaining field sobriety tests, the arrest report states. At jail he agreed to evidentiary breath samples with results of .167, .184 and .183. Bail: $1,608.

— A 33-year-old transient was arrested Monday, 3:30 p.m. in the area of Minnesota and Fifth streets for a misdemeanor failure to appear in traffic court warrant issued in November 2015. Bail: $351.

— A 64-year-old transient, David Thomas Gulley, was booked into jail Monday, 11:30 a.m. for a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Georgia in May 2008. He’s being held without bail awaiting extradition.

— A 28-year-old Dayton man was arrested Monday, 7:36 a.m. in the area of Arrowhead and Convair Drive for a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued in July 2016. Bail: $215.
