Carson City arrests: Man with protection orders jailed after kicking in door of motel room

A 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday and faces multiple charges including burglary, preventing a victim from reporting a crime and domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Abdul Wali Dahab was taken into custody in at 1:47 a.m. in the 300 block of North Stewart Street. He also faces two gross misdemeanor charges of violating a court order and a Department of Alternative Sentencing hold.

According to the booking report, the man allegedly kicked the door in of a motel room where the victim was staying. The man had two protection orders restricting him from the address. As the man was attempting to enter the room, the woman called 911. When he made entry into the room, he allegedly slapped the phone out of the woman’s hands preventing her from calling for help, according to the arrest report. Bail: $39,411.

In other arrests:
— A 30-year-old San Francisco man was arrested Sunday, 4:14 a.m. in the 2700 block of South Carson Street for suspicion of domestic battery.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the a motel in the 2700 block of South Carson Street for a report of domestic battery.

Deputies spoke with the suspect and victim and learned the couple had been arguing and that the man hit the woman in the legs. The suspect, who smelled strongly of alcohol, told an officer he slapped the woman in the leg during an argument. The woman was interviewed and said the man “hit” her, according to the arrest report. The male suspect was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 9:04 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 and South Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, failing to register, not having a Nevada driver’s license within 30 days and speeding.

A sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle after he had confirmed the car going 78 in a posted 50 mph zone. The driver identified himself with a California license. The man told the officer he had been living at a Carson City address since November 2016.

The officer could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the person and asked if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages. The man said he had not. The man refused field sobriety tests tests. As he exited his vehicle he was unsteady on his feet. Bail: $2,503.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 10:54 p.m. in the 600 block of North Stewart Street for misdemeanor violation of pretrial supervision. Bail: $3,000.

— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 2:18 p.m. in the 3100 block of Highway 50 East for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Jan. 24, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man, Kenneth Case, was arrested Saturday, 8:33 a.m. in the area of Northridge and Roop streets for a felony warrant alleging principal to commit burglary. The warrant was issued Jan. 20, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $25,000.

— A 49-year-old Carson City man, Richard Allen Lopez, was arrested Saturday, 5:19 p.m in the area of East Park and North Carson Street for two counts felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, and four misdemeanor: two counts possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to yield to a pedestrian, driving under the influence of drugs and being a resident driving on a non-resident license.

According to the arrest report, a sheriff’s office sergeant observed the man failed to yield for a pedestrian at the intersection of Adeline and Carson Street. The man acted erratically and couldn’t focus on questions being asked. He was read his Miranda rights and admitted to “eating” a “pinch” of methamphetamine that morning. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI drugs. At jail during intake a baggie of methamphetamine was found underneath a chair where the man was seated. The baggie was not there prior to him being seated. Bail: $10,314.

— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 9:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of East William Street for misdemeanor possession of marijuana by a person under 21 and department of alternative sentencing violation. Bail: $1,737.

— A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 9:18 p.m. in the area of Gordon and Brown streets for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Bail: $295.

— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 10:27 p.m. in the area of I-580 and Fairview for two misdemeanor warrants for violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $6,000.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 7:05 a.m in the 1600 block of East Long Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and hit and run of an unoccupied vehicle. The man allegedly hit a parked car and then went inside his home where he was asleep. The man admitted he had been drinking earlier and crashed the vehicle. Bail: $1,759.

— A 25-year-old Lyon County woman was arrested Jan. 26, 5:06 p.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street for a misdemeanor warrant issued out of Lyon County. Bail: $480.

— A traffic stop Thursday led to the arrests of three men, one for multiple felony charges.
Arrested were: Cody Allen Purbaugh, 21, for three counts felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, three counts possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a suspended sentence.

A 19-year-old Carson City man was also arrested for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI drugs and disobedience of a traffic control device. A 19-year-old Las Vegas man was also arrested for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a red light. Two in the car were on alternative sentencing. The driver gave deputies consent to have a canine do an exterior sniff of the car.

Found inside the car was methamphetamine in a pipe, assorted prescription pills without a prescription, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana.
