Northern Nevada Dream Center hosts toy drive to provide for children in need this holiday season

Most need items include board games, gift cards, makeup, craft supplies and room decor for teen girls and boys.

The Salvation Army Carson City Corps seeks community help to provide gifts for local children

“We are in particular need of items for teenagers — things like clothes, gift cards, sports equipment, makeup, jewelry and advanced LEGO sets,” said Captain Holly Beeson, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army. “At this point, we do not have enough gifts to distribute at Christmas for these local children.”
Nevada State Police host 'Cram the Cruiser' toy collection event Saturday at Reno headquarters

Nevada State Police troopers and officers will be collecting toy donations for children in need in our community. Refreshments will be provided as troopers attempt to "Cram the Cruiser" with gifts.
GreenUP!, downtown Carson City restaurants host fundraiser for FISH through Christmas, raise awareness on food waste

The charity drive will run from Dec. 15 through Dec. 25.

Rotary Polio Plus District Chair Phillip Mahoney will be the guest speaker at the meeting, which takes place at noon, Tuesday, Dec. 13 in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 West King Street in Carson City. The public is welcome to attend. The presentation will cover both the past and present status of polio, vaccines and the different forms of the virus.
