Change of venue for Sunday's Carson City Symphony violin and piano recital
The location for Carson City Symphony Association's "Violin and Piano House Recital" on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2 p.m., has been changed due to icy conditions at the original venue. The afternoon of music, conversation, wine, and dessert with Brian Fox, violin, and Eric Kao, piano, will be at 191 Heidi Circle, Carson City.
Tickets are $25 and are available online at CCSymphony.com or by calling the Symphony at 775-883-4154 for reservations. Space is limited.
The recital will entertain music lovers in our area with a varied program of musical treats.The program includes Kreisler's Variations on a Theme of Corelli, Debussy’s Sonata for Violin and Piano, Beethoven's Romance in F, Dvorak's Valcik (Waltz) in D, and selected Christmas songs.
Brian Fox and Eric Kao have performed together in ensembles and as a duo for several years. They enjoy presenting annual summer recitals and benefit concerts in northern Nevada. This recital is a benefit for Carson City Symphony’s music and educational programs.
Brian Fox is Concertmaster of the Carson City Symphony, and Co-Concertmaster of TOCCATA Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, and Director of Orchestras for the Carson City School District. He also performs with the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and in chamber music groups. He holds a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature.
Eric Kao is Musical Director and Accompanist for the Sierra High Notes chorus in Reno. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Masters of Music in Collaborative Piano. He also earned a dual Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and Piano performance with a Minor in Mathematics at UNR.
