Mile High Jazz Band will present “Big Band Jazz at Gina's,” on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Gina's Good Life Music and Lounge, 507 N. Carson Street inside the Carson Nugget.

The speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Michael “Mike” Smith, a retired high school principal who relocated to Carson City from the Memphis area in 2017. His PowerPoint presentation will commemorate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the national holiday observed in his honor since 1986.

The Carson City Moose Lodge in conjunction with The Blue Bull are hosting a Beer & Brats fundraising event. For just a $10 ticket, one can get a freshly grilled brat and two draft beers. A raffle will be held every half hour from noon to 3 p.m. Proceeds will support the Friends of Sutro Tunnel.

Johanna (Joey) Packwood is an 18 year old firebrand conservative. She was raised here in Carson City and attended Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. Joey has worked on many campaigns including Captain Sam Brown's Senate campaign. She was also the representative for Northern Nevada at the Leadership Institute campaign college. Carson Valley Community Theatre is producing a brand new comedy, one you might have heard of. In fact, it's the third and final comedy in the Verdeen Cousins Texas Trilogy that begins with "The Red Velvet Cake War" and continues with "Rex's Exes."
