The Salvation Army Carson City Corps seeks community help to provide gifts for local children
The Salvation Army Carson City Corps provides gifts for children every year at Christmas. This year, the Corps is in particular need of gifts for teenagers and is seeking the community’s help.
“We are in particular need of items for teenagers — things like clothes, gift cards, sports equipment, makeup, jewelry and advanced LEGO sets,” said Captain Holly Beeson, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army. “At this point, we do not have enough gifts to distribute at Christmas for these local children.”
In addition to gifts for teens, The Salvation Army needs additional presents for kids in the 8 to 10 age range, including Nerf guns, LEGO sets and character play sets.
Community members who are interested in helping make Christmas merry and bright for local children are encouraged to call (775) 887-9120 to learn more. Gifts can be dropped off at the Corps, 911 E. Second Street., Carson City.
“We are grateful to be a part of this community and feel blessed by the giving spirit of the people who live here,” Captain Beeson said. “We know that inflation has hit everyone hard this year, but we hope those with the ability to help will do so and ensure that kids in need get a gift at Christmas.”
