Carson City received a mutual aid request to Storey County following a crash during the Grand Prix just before 11 a.m. Saturday.

According to dispatch, an unknown age male crashed during the races which resulted in a broken arm.

The next Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on Thursday, May 4 beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Bob Crowell Boardroom of the Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit and run involving a pedestrian that occurred in the area of Carson St and Robinson St. On 4/28/23, at about 2008 hours, a dark colored sedan was driving westbound on Robinson from Plaza St.

A little after 8 p.m. a pedestrian hit-and-run was reported on Robinson St. near the nugget.

The victim, a 55-year-old woman, was struck and suffered a head and ankle injury according to dispatch.

Two vehicles are involved and are blocking traffic.

Preliminary investigation revealed that on March 2, 2023, at approximately 6:17 p.m., the Nevada State Police responded to a reported crash at the location of US50 and Nye Lane in Carson City.

Upon arrival, it was determined that a pedestrian was attempting to cross US50 southbound lanes from Nye Lane not in a crosswalk. A silver Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on US50 approaching Nye Lane.

The use of our narcotics detecting K9’s in the schools is being noticed throughout the community. I have received more feedback regarding this issue than I initially anticipated. The vast majority of the feedback has been positive. Several questions and “concerns” have arisen due to the proactive approach the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is taking in the schools. On Sunday, April 23, 2023, at approximately 11:30 am, an unknown male suspect committed a vehicle burglary in the parking lot of Grocery Outlet at 2100 East William Street in Carson City.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Wednesday afternoon to a two vehicle crash near the intersection of College Parkway and Imperial Way.

The Division of Child and Family Services, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Carson City, and other Carson City organizations are partnering for the inaugural Be A Hero 5K Fun Run & Walk & Family Resource Fair, April 29, at Riverview Park, 600 Marsh Road in Carson City. Dayton resident Raymond Medeiros said he worries every time he leaves his neighborhood to travel on Highway 50 through Dayton to work or to take his children to school.

Carson City's Smith's, located at 599 E. William Street, has reopened following its closure by the health department.

According to the department, a complaint was received by a customer stating they had witnessed multiple mice within the store. An Environmental Health Inspector was dispatched to the store and observed rodent droppings in areas of the store where pre-packaged foods are located. During that inspection, no mice were seen.

A 26-year-old man was arrested Sunday for suspicion of second DUI and basic speeding, both misdemeanor offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

UPDATE 6 a.m.: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong tells KOLO that the incident involved a vehicle pursuit in which suspects in the vehicle that caused the crash had stolen merchandise from a south Carson Street clothing store. The two killed in the crash were passengers in the suspect vehicle. A third passenger and the driver were taken to Renown. The driver of the victim vehicle was also taken to Renown. Their condition is unknown.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol were called Sunday night to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of East William and North Saliman.
