greenUP!, an environmental education non-profit working with local businesses to implement sustainable best practices, announced that Green Dining District restaurants – So Juicy, Great Basin Brewery Co., and Squeeze In – will participate in the Carson Street Green Dining District’s Earth Week celebration.

The Mindful SEAD is hosting free workshops in Northern Nevada for area school educators and support staff on Saturday, April 29. The Mindful SEAD (social-emotional academic development) is a non-profit organization providing educators with tools and strategies to support their well-being.
Carson City School District to host training on how to talk to students in crisis
The Carson City School District in partnership with the Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention will host a training course titled “safeTALK” to help parents learn how to talk to their students through crisis. The training will be held April 29 at 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the library at Carson High School.
Be A Hero 5K Fun Run & Walk & Family Resource Fair this Saturday in Carson City
The Division of Child and Family Services, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Carson City, and other Carson City organizations are partnering for the inaugural Be A Hero 5K Fun Run & Walk & Family Resource Fair, April 29, at Riverview Park, 600 Marsh Road in Carson City. The event will raise awareness for National Child Abuse Prevention Month, which is celebrated every April.

Fandango Comedy Club Presents Ron Coleman
At Casino Fandango, the laughs begin at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Ron started out his entertainment career as stunt man appearing in over thirty movies and television shows. Soon after, he tried standup for the first time and decided that was the career for him and within one year was performing at Catch A Rising Star on the Las Vegas strip and never looked back. Ron has opened for and performed with such comedy greats as Rodney Dangerfield, Tim Allen, Ellen DeGeneres, Joe Rogan and George Lopez.

Joni Morris has been critically acclaimed as the "most authentic Patsy Cline Music Tribute Artist ever known!" Her 25 year career as a nationally touring vocalist and entertainer proves her excellence. She'll be performing at Nashville Social Club at 2:30 p.m., tickets are $28-$38.
Yoga at the Brewery is held at Shoe Tree Brewing Co. in Carson City twice per month on Sundays for a 60 minute Vinyasa Yoga session. Class fee is $20 and begins at 11 a.m.

Learn Dayton’s best kept historical secrets at the Dayton Museum
Do you want to know the historic town of Dayton’s best kept secrets? Dayton Museum opened for the season on March 4 at the town’s 1865 schoolhouse at 135 Shady Lane.
