The Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento Students in Transition program is requesting gift card donations valued between $10-$100 to help assist pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade students in transition. Students in transition are those individuals who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence including children and youth sharing housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship or similar reasons.

A crash in the southbound lanes of Carson Street in front of Bodine’s casino was reported just before 10 a.m. Saturday.

A motorcyclist was injured and was reported to be on the ground, but conscious and sitting up.

A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on a violation of bail conditions warrant Thursday night in the 3100 block of Otha St.

According to the arrest report, Special Enforcement Team deputies arrived on scene to service the warrant, and surrounded the house just after 10 p.m. Using a loud speaker, they ordered all occupants out of the house.

A 30-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested Wednesday for alleged possession of a controlled substance among other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
