Carson City deputies arrest woman hiding in a plastic tote during warrant service
A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on a violation of bail conditions warrant Thursday night in the 3100 block of Otha St.
According to the arrest report, Special Enforcement Team deputies arrived on scene to service the warrant, and surrounded the house just after 10 p.m. Using a loud speaker, they ordered all occupants out of the house.
A man exited the residence, who was immediately placed in handcuffs. He told deputies that the woman was hiding in a back room and gave consent to search the house.
Deputies, equipped with ballistic shields, entered the home and searched for the woman. They cleared the house until they reached the back room and searched the closet. Inside the closet deputies located trash, clothes, and boxes.
Deputies tapped on a grey plastic tote on the top shelf of the closet. The tote was rigid and did not move. Deputies lifted the lid of the tote, and found the woman curled up in a ball inside.
Deputies pulled the tote containing the woman off of the shelf and pulled the woman by her wrists out of the tote. She was taken into custody without incident.
Bail: $3,000 cash only
