CARSON CITY — The 25-acre Evans Creek Fire started Thursday around 2 a.m. and is located southwest of Reno on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Carson Ranger District in Evans Canyon area approximately two miles from the Ballardini Ranch Trailhead. Central Lyon County fire and paramedics and the Nevada Highway Patrol responded Wednesday afternoon to a crash involving multiple vehicles in the area of US95-A and Ninth Street in Silver Springs.

Just after noon on Wednesday, Carson City sheriff's dispatch reported that a man had been stabbed near a North Carson casino and a suspect is still at large.
