NHP identifies victims in Sept. 14 crash in Lyon County that killed driver and passenger
The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that happened Sept. 14, 2019 involving two vehicles in which two people died.
NHP has identified Eddie James Dunnet, 20, of Schurz and Sarah Lynn Sam, 21, of Yerington as the two who died from injuries resulting in the crash.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at approximately 5:29 a.m. NHP troopers were dispatched to a serious injury crash on US-95 Alternate and Lyon County mile marker 27 involving two vehicles.
Preliminary investigation shows that a white 2016 Chevrolet Sonic was traveling southbound on US-95A near Lyon County mile marker 27.
A white 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck was traveling northbound approaching the same location. The Chevrolet Sonic crossed into the northbound lane and continued to travel south, striking the Dodge Ram 2500 head-on.
The driver of the Chevrolet Sonic, Dunnet and passenger Sam, died of their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is seeking additional witnesses to this crash.
