Sierra-Tahoe Unit No. 137 Fleet Reserve delivers Easter egg hunt to Marine base children
The Sierra-Tahoe Auxiliary Unit #137 of the Fleet Reserve Association has historically provided an Easter Egg Hunt for the children at the USMC Winter Warfare base in Bridgeport, Calif.
This year due to the pandemic the Branch/Unit was unable to actually be at the housing complex but still were able to stuff 800 eggs filled with small toys, stickers, and candy, provide small stuffed animals and yoyos, and toys too large to fit in an egg and deliver them to a base community staff member (Jessie).
Many of the members were involved, whether it be actually stuffing the eggs (Cherly Dagang, Maggie Smith, Susan Hamarlund with granddaughters, Diane Maquire, Brenda Horton), purchasing the goods, or assisting in the delivery (Brenda Horton, Jan Solberg).
It was a success from what we heard but unfortunately our Easter Bunny (a Branch
shipmate) who talks with the children and does a family photo was unable to be there.
