We expanded this 4,000 square foot location and increased our showroom space by 1,250 square feet in January 2022. The Carson Chamber Singers, a performing group of the Carson City Symphony Association, will begin rehearsals on Tuesday, May 24, for two free outdoor concerts with the Symphony on June 12 and July 4, 2022.

The rehearsals, directed by Ricky Hutton, will be on Tuesdays, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., at the LDS Church, 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City, and additional rehearsals with the orchestra at the Carson City Senior Center. Singers may join for one or both concerts.

More than 50 Carson High School (CHS) Seniors were recognized Thursday night for collectively earning more than $5.1 million in scholarships (a number that will continue to rise). Their accomplishments, which highlighted the academic success of the Class of 2022, were celebrated in an awards ceremony Thursday, May 19, in Senator Square at Carson High.

Ronald Charles Trapp “Ronnie”, age 34 entered eternal life on April 19th, 2022. Ronnie was born in Marysville, CA on September 24th, 1987 to Carrie and Ronald W. Trapp. He spent much of his life between the Marysville area in California and the Carson City/Gardnerville area in Nevada.

Ronnie enjoyed fishing, spending time with his loved ones, food, camping in the forest, his dog Tank, and as it seemed, almost anything outdoors. He had a big heart and would give the shirt off his back if you were in need.

Northbound I-580 was closed for several hours Friday morning following a fatal rollover crash.

Nevada State Police are investigating the crash, which occurred in the early morning hours.

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday night after allegedly exposing himself in front of a minor.

According to the arrest report, Mario Quevedo was arrested after the mother of the child called dispatch reporting that Quevedo had come into her bedroom and exposed his genitals in front of her and her daughter.

Nevada added 5,200 jobs in April as the state continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Employment remains below typical levels, but is up by 107,100 jobs since April 2021, an annual increase of 8 percent, according to the state's Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s latest economic report.

RENO — Medical students in their fourth year at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) celebrated commencement on May 13 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno. One of the most anticipated days of the year for these new physicians, commencement marks the beginning of the professional careers for each of the 70 graduates.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Aaron Sims, candidate for Nevada State Senate District 16, which emcompasses all of Carson City and parts of South Washoe County. Not having any Democratic primary opposition, he will advance to the November 8th general election. There he will face off against the winner of the June 14th Republican primary. The GOP contenders are Timothy Duvall, Lisa Krasner, Monica Stabbert and incumbent Don Tatro.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division responded late Thursday afternoon to the southbound lane of I-580 near the College Parkway ramp for a single vehicle crash.

Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak signed a proclamation Thursday formally ending the Declaration of Emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The proclamation is effective as of 12:01 a.m. Friday, May 20.

Carson City Historical Society is proud to host a lecture on "The Comstock Chinese & Other Chinese Immigrant Communities in Northern Nevada," on a new date, Thursday, June 2, 7:30 p.m. on Zoom. The guest speaker is Erica Hill. Previously the lecture was scheduled for Thursday, May 19, but had to be rescheduled due to illness.

Senior Jassmen Dominguez is like so many students who attend Carson City's Pioneer Academy when she says she felt like she was a small fish in a large pond. Jassmen’s Pioneer adventure began nearly three years ago when she was finishing up her ninth grade year at Carson High School.
