Carson High School teacher, coach resigns following allegations of inappropriate behavior with student
A Carson High School math teacher and varsity basketball coach, Jordan Glover, resigned following allegations of inappropriate behavior involving a student.
A Carson Now reader reached out to reporters at the end of February stating Glover had allegedly been engaging inappropriately with a female student. However, any information regarding the reason for Glover's resignation has not been confirmed by the school district.
According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, there is an active case investigation open into the alleged situation.
"We are aware of the allegations and are working with the school district," said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. "We actually do have an 'open' investigation and because of that, we cannot comment on the status."
Following an investigation by the sheriff's office, the District Attorney's Office will determine whether or not criminal charges will be filed.
The Carson City School District confirmed Glover's resignation Tuesday morning.
“Mr. Jordan Glover has resigned as Math Teacher and Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Carson High School,” said a spokesperson for the school district. “Because employee matters remain confidential, district officials could not comment or elaborate on his departure. District officials wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors.”
Plans to find replacements for a new head varsity basketball coach and math teacher have already begun.
Glover did not return multiple attempts requesting comment on this story.
This is a developing story.
