The first winewalk of 2024 and the weather is exactly what it should be. FIG Insurnace, A+ Documents, and Sierra Payroll are new to the winewalk and can't wait to meet the regulars and the first timers. The winewalk happens the first Saturday of every month and is sponsored by the Downtown Business Association. It is a fun way to learn about our local businesses. Hope to see you next month!

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Sandy Severance, Community Engagement Manager for the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada. She will provide an overview of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia more generally, and Alzheimer’s Association services available locally. Topics include the impact of Alzheimer’s, myths and facts, risk factors, the 10 warning signs, and how others can join the fight against the disease.

Carson High School’s Senior in the Spotlight this week is Malia (Mia) Alvarado. Mia is an amazing student and has attended CHS for all four years, earning an Academic letter. She has taken Honors level classes and is actively involved in the Early Childhood Education Program.

The next Build2Win workshop is Jan. 20 and will feature Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong and Douglas County Sheriff Daniel Coverley. The sheriffs will share their respective approaches and the results in each county.
