Build2Win community workshop to feature Carson City and Douglas County sheriffs
The next Build2Win workshop is Jan. 20 and will feature Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong and Douglas County Sheriff Daniel Coverley. The sheriffs will share their respective approaches and the results in each county.
The workshop will be held in the Ormsby Room of the Carson City Sheriff's Office, 911 E Musser Street. It begins at 10:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public. Donations to Build2Win are welcome at the door. This is the time and place to ask questions of your elected chief enforcement officer.
Build2Win is a new non-partisan, non-profit volunteer organization that promotes sharing knowledge about our City through workshops on public policies and projects. An informed resident is an engaged resident to develop effective solutions to preserve its rural, small town character — what we treasure most about Carson City, what attracts visitors to our town, and what makes us proud to call it our home.
Our group of dedicated volunteers has been active for a few years but was formally organized as Build2Win in September 2023. We hold monthly workshops to discuss topics of interest to residents such as road funding (aka asphalt replacement or neighborhood streets), facts about property taxes, growth management with balance of housing types and City’s spending priorities.
Such information enable engaged residents to affect change and preserve our quality of life in Carson City.
