Lions Club Hosts Kids’ Fishing Day in Carson City on April 22
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 04/12/2023 - 2:20pmThe Carson City Host Lions Club will be hosting the Annual Kids’ Fishing Day at Baily Pond in Fuji Park on Saturday, April 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and provides a good opportunity to introduce kids under the age of 12 to fishing and conservation. Volunteers will be available to answer questions and to help kids in need of assistance with fishing.

Carson City Rotarians help bring safe drinking water access to Panama

Local Rotarian John Copoulos just returned from the project site in Sofre, Panama where residents and Rotarians celebrated the project’s completion.

$10 for kids 12 and under equals a meal and soft drink. Additional tickets may be purchased at the event as well. We’ll have lots of prizes to win and lots of junk to sort through. Find some treasures to take home, have some chili, and help your favorite local roller derby team achieve a goal they’ve been working so hard for!
Carson City's Mills Park now officially welcomes on-leash dogs inside park

The change comes after many years-worth of issues regarding citizens bringing dogs into Mills Park, which, until the recent revision, was unauthorized.

He will share his knowledge about local bear activity with members of the Rotary Club of Carson City and the public at the club’s next meeting on Tuesday, April 4th.

Don’t mind her grumpy face, she’s really just a sweet and independent lady who loves treats, pets, and hanging out on the couch or cat bed. Looking out the window and watching the birds, in addition to binge watching TV, are top priorities for this fabulous 9-year-old feline.
She hasn’t been able to do this as she’s been in the Carson City shelter since late December.
Carson City students compete in state spelling bee
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 03/29/2023 - 10:30amBethlehem Lutheran School students Jason Bradshaw, Grace Emery and Max de la Torre traveled to Las Vegas and competed in the Nevada State Spelling Bee at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 25.
All three students represented Carson City well, spelling against the best spellers in the state. They all three finished tied for 12, beating 18 other spellers before misspelling the words emblazoned, hiatus, and exoneration, respectively.
